Service types

Stablecoins aren’t “staked” like ETH or SOL, because they don’t secure a network. When a protocol says staking, you’re actually locking your stablecoin into one of these services. The figure in the corner shows how many pools of that type currently pass the filters below and the highest APY among them.

How to read the ranking

APY, not APR. DefiLlama shows APY, the annual yield with compounding. APR is the same yield without reinvesting. Below 10% the difference is small; at 50% APY the equivalent APR is about 41%.

High yield usually means rewards or risk. When the orange part of the bar is large, the yield comes from protocol tokens, whose price and quantity change. The 30-day average shows whether today’s figure is lasting or a short-lived spike.

Small pools jump around. In a pool with low TVL, a single large deposit or withdrawal sharply changes the yield. That’s why the default filter is 1 M $.

Risks aren’t in the number. Every service carries smart contract risk, and some also carry the risk of a depeg, liquidations or funds locked until maturity. The ranking shows yield, not safety.
